The Government of Australia has announced a new ingenuity that will advantage international students from India. This friendship initiatives will increase cultural, instructive and community ties between Australia and India. Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne announced 'Maitri' Scholars Program under which it will provide over USD 11 million plus for four years to support Indian students to study in Australia's world-leading universities.
She quoted “I'm also proud with a number of my Australian ministerial colleagues to announce today a series of new initiatives to boost the education and cultural ties between Australia and India” Payne said this is an agreement that both sides are confident, will unlock new trade and investment opportunities, particularly as both economies recover from the impact of COVID-19.
The $11.2 million Maitri Scholarships Program will attract and support high achieving Indian students to study at Australian universities. It will showcase Australia's globally renowned academic and research institutions, particularly in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and health.
A additional $3.0 million will be presented under the Maitri fundings and partnerships program for professionals. Under this partnership, $5.4 million will support enhancement the role of inspired trades.
This will be a great lift to the contribution of apprentices in programs like STEM. These scholarships/funds will help students to emphasis on educations rather than subsistence, specifically after what Pandemic has done to the economy.
